AK COOPE, clarinet Clarinettist AK Coope is frequently heard with the Vancouver and Victoria Symphonies, Turning Point Ensemble, Victoria’s Aventa Ensemble and the Vancouver New Music Ensemble, among others. She is a member of Standing Wave, one of Canada’s premier contemporary music ensembles, and can also be heard on numerous film sound tracks and CD recordings. She plays regularly as a member of Veda Hille’s Band has also played with Folk icon Bob Bossin. AK has performed both nationally and internationally including concerts across Eastern Canada, New York City and in Bali, Indonesia. She has also recently been found performing at the Rocky Mountaineer Train Station, at the Atrium of the HSBC Bank on Georgia Street in the tunnels and concentrator mill of the Britannia Mine- all as part of the New Music in New Places program and the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad. AK holds degrees in performance from UBC and from Northwestern University in Chicago and is on faculty at the Vancouver Academy of Music.
