PACIFIC OPERA VICTORIA
Doug MacNaughton returns to Pacific Opera in 2010 for their current production of Mozart's Così fan tutte.  Mr. MacNaughton has been a favourite performer with Pacific Opera since 1997.  He grew up in Brandon, Manitoba and made his debut with Edmonton Opera in 1982. He has since appeared throughout Canada and the U. S. His has a flair for physical comedy that has made him much in demand for roles that call not only for good singing but the additional ability to be carry the humour  of these comedic roles.  His acting ability also has a serious side.   He has performed in roles as diverse as Messiah and Les Misérables.

His most recent performances include roles for the Stirling Festival Theatre, and Manitoba Opera and an opera gala for the Toronto Mendelsshon Choir. Mr. MacNaughton lives in Toronto where he also teaches voice and guitar.
MacNaughton used his attractive voice to embrace all of the nuances of the libretto… he is a great singing actor.

Richard Holliston, Pacific Opera’s long-time répétiteur and chorus master, Robert has given POV’s pre-performance lectures since 1993 and hosts our new series INSIDE OPERA. He has performed throughout North America, England, and New Zealand, and has been heard frequently on CBC Radio. Robert has collaborated with many of the country's leading singers, instrumentalists, and dancers, and has toured and recorded extensively with the popular salon ensemble Viveza. Currently he is Head of Accompanying at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, where he also teaches classes in music history. During the past three seasons Robert has been guest concerto soloist with the Sidney Classical and Victoria Symphony Orchestras.
